At Rocklands we want our children to be able to access technology to enhance their lives. Technology is everywhere and will play a pivotal role in their lives.Our curriculum allows all learners the opportunity to develop skills across all departments, which is appropriate to their need, cognition level and understanding. Through all areas of our curriculum, we teach children to use technology creatively, positively, responsibly and safely which is closely linked to our approach to preparing our children for adulthood.
We recognise that computing teaches creativity, accessibility and discrete computing knowledge therefore computing is taught discretely and through a cross curricular/ thematic approach. At Rocklands, Computing is taught through the termly topic focusing on developing appropriate knowledge and skills. The computing curriculum at Rocklands provides a broad framework and outlines the knowledge and skills taught in each department.
