At Rocklands, Geography is about studying places, population and environmental conditions at all ages and stages of development. It provides children with opportunities for fieldwork to develop key geographical skills.
The starting point for all pupils is through observation of familiar places and weather, searching for items using locational vocabulary and hands-on exploration of natural items. Learning then extends into developing an awareness of their local environment, to compare cities and villages and learn about key human and physical geography. Children will then develop their ability to compare countries around the world, as well as using maps to develop their locational and place knowledge.
