Owls

Welcome to Owls Class

In Owls classroom, teaching and learning is an active, dynamic, and highly interactive process. We recognise that our learners acquire and retain knowledge best when abstract concepts are translated into concrete, physical, and sensory experiences.

Our Reading, Writing, Maths, and Communication are woven through every practical activities, and daily routines.

Teaching is structured around rich, cross-curricular topics that give purpose to learning. By exploring the same concept across different topic-led activities, staff teach pupils to apply their English and Maths skills in varied, real-world contexts. Expressing choices, requesting resources, and responding to instructions are embedded into every session as explicit learning outcomes alongside English and Maths targets.

Staff proactively integrate movement breaks, sensory circuits, and heavy-work activities into the teaching flow. Physical activity is leveraged both to support sensory processing/regulation and to drive motor-planning skills essential for fine-motor control and writing. Teachers and support staff work seamlessly to model communication, demonstrate physical movements, and support small-group sensory work simultaneously.
