Welcome to the Toucan Class page!
Please follow our class feed on ‘Reach More Parents’ to see updates and photos of the children.
We hope you have had a restful Christmas holiday and are ready for the start of Spring 2026.
In Toucan Class, we follow the Pre-formal Curriculum. We use PECS (Picture Exchange Communication system) and ALDs (aided language displays) to support the children’s communication and Attention Autism activities to develop attention and listening skills. Independence is encouraged daily and learning often takes place through play and exploration.
We hope you’ve all had a wonderful summer holiday and are feeling refreshed and ready for the start of Autumn 2026! We’re really looking forward to welcoming everyone back and sharing lots of fun, learning and new experiences together.
Key days:
P.E. – Tuesday – Please send a P.E kit in.
Community Visits – Monday mornings – you will be informed which group your child is in.
Swimming – Monday – Please send in a swim kit and a towel.
Library – Monday – Your child will choose a book to borrow from the Toucan library. Please return their book every Monday so they can choose another one to bring home.
Communication
Follow us on ‘Reach More Parents’ to see what the children have been learning. If you need to contact Zoe, please either phone the school office and leave a message or email her at zoe.graham@rocklands.mhat.org.uk and she will get back to you as soon as she can. For daily communication, please use the ‘Message Centre’ on Reach More Parents.
